About Us

The Association for Patients with Lacrimal Duct Obstruction is a non-profit organization founded in 2019. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of patients by ensuring better access to modern and effective methods of treating lacrimal duct obstruction. We undertake informational, educational, and supportive activities to promote innovative therapies and increase public and medical awareness of this condition.

We maintain dialogue with hospitals, public administration bodies, the National Health Fund, and the Ministry of Health. We collect statistical data on the incidence of lacrimal duct obstruction as well as the methods and outcomes of its treatment. We prepare scientific reports on patient access to the most advanced treatments for lacrimal duct obstruction available in the country. We monitor the scientific literature in this field to assess whether the latest treatment options are available in Poland.

Chapter II

Goals and Methods of Implementation

The aim of the Association is to improve access to surgical treatment of lacrimal duct obstruction financed by the National Health Fund, to undertake actions aimed at reducing the waiting time for surgery to a maximum of 6 months, and to enhance public awareness of the disease.

The Association will pursue its goals through:

a) Cooperation with the National Health Fund to facilitate agreements with medical facilities providing treatment for lacrimal duct diseases;

b) Collaboration with public administration units and hospitals to properly organize access to treatment for lacrimal duct obstruction;

c) Creating funds to support the implementation of the statutory objectives;

d) Initiating other activities that support the fulfillment of statutory objectives.
